ABOUT US
Jonathan Rizzo began his affinity with instrument repair as a teenage bassoonist. While he would eventually become the 1st chair bassoonist in the New York Area All State Band, woodwind repairmen who could fix his instrument were few and far between. So, he began learning to fix his own instrument and his uncle, a fellow bassoonist, taught him to make his own reeds.

After college, in Boston, Jonathan worked as a repair technician for the world renowned Rayburn Music across the street from Symphony Hall. Jonathan repaired over 3000 clarinets for Rayburn and spent a year and a half apprenticing with the world's greatest saxophone technician, Emilio Lyons.

Now, in Nashville, TN and working closely with Steinway & Sons, Jonathan is focusing his mastery of instrument repair on pianos. He is happy to work on all types of pianos, so players of all skill levels can sound their very best!

Jonathan comes from a long line of musicians including his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and enjoys helping his daughter, Valentina, play her best as well!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET A PIANO TUNED?
Our standard price to tune a piano starts at $425 for a 2 hour appointment.
Pitch raises are often necessary after two+ years between tunings, which adds an extra hour at $325.
Deep cleanings are recommended every three to five years and also add an extra hour at $375.
Voicing brings back the warmth and richness of your piano and again, adds an extra hour at $495.
Key regulation, action lubrication, repairs, and other services available upon request.
DO YOU COME TO ME?
Yes, we do most of our services in our customers' homes. Unless we are doing work that requires multiple days to perform, like restringing the whole piano or refinishing the case, we can keep the piano in it's current location.
ARE PIANOS TUNED TO 440?
We tune all pianos to the middle "A" at 440 Hz. We can tune to alternate pitches upon request.
WILL MOVING A PIANO PUT IT OUT OF TUNE?
Although it can be the physical movement, it's often the climate change associated with the move that makes pianos go out of tune. It's always a good idea to get a piano tuned after a few weeks in a new space!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY PIANO TUNED?
Most of our clients are on a 6 month plan, just like the dentist. Getting your piano tuned every six months is the best way to ensure a quality experience for every player.
DO YOU TUNE PIANOS OUTSIDE OF THE GREATER NASHVILLE AREA?
Yes, we travel all over to tune pianos, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Hermitage, even farther if you would like. We just ask that you add an additional unit of driving time for every twenty minutes of driving outside of downtown Nashville, TN. The first 20 minutes are free though!
